Entertainment giant Disney has filed a patent for an “anti-scanning” material that would prevent the unauthorized 3D scanning and 3D printing of copyrighted Disney figurines. The company is apparently trying to stem the flow of homemade 3D printed toys that can be downloaded online. It might not be the reason you bought a 3D printer, but homemade toys and figurines are undoubtedly one of the more popular recreational uses for additive technology.
