The task of archiving objects that are important for historical, scientific, or cultural reasons is one that has been made significantly easier and more efficient recently as a result of 3D technology. We reported not long ago on a project that will see the establishment of a major archive composed of 3D scans of animal anatomies, for research and educational purposes.
